First off, I know I haven’t posted anything in ages. I’m not sure why exactly, but I haven’t been in a blogging mood. I’m going to try and change that. However, it’s not going to happen here. I’ll be relocating my blogging action to a WordPress site, and likely hosting it myself. If I get too lazy I may just get a pre-fab one on WordPress.com. We’ll see. Either way, I’ll post here once I finally set it up. And I’ll even make a LiveJournal syndicated feed for it if anyone requests it.
However, I would strongly suggest that you all start using Google Reader for your syndication. Seriously. It blows everything else out of the water. And don’t come crying to me about how you can’t see "Friends Only" posts through it, because you can. Just use this handy dandy tool: http://lj.abnib.co.uk/
Also, I’m going to recommend that everyone here switches to WordPress as well, because it’s a phenomenally better blogging platform. I highly doubt even a single one of you will listen to this suggestion, but I’ve got to throw it out there none the less.
K. That’s all for now.

What about wordpress do you like better?

First, and most importantly, it’s Open Source. Second, it can do everything LiveJournal can, and soooooo much more. You can install plugins to do virtually anything you want. You can set up guest authors, you can change themes, you can make special pages. It’s basically a blog on crack, and it’s completely free and amazingly well designed and written. It gives you complete control of your blog as a website, instead of just a tiny piece of a website. There are also (optional) updates to the platform quite regularly, so you can always keep up with the latest features. Or not.
You could, if you were so inclined, build yourself an entire website on the WordPress platform, for any purpose. From Movie Trailers to Japanese Restaurants to CNN Politics to regular blogs, WordPress can do anything. LiveJournal does… blogging. And in my opinion, does it poorly.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about wordpress, but livejournal has served me well
and as long as I can get a syndicated feed I’ll probably stick around here. I dunno, force of habit… today I went out of my way to go to the grocery store I’ve been going to for the last 6 years because I know where everything is.. yeah, I’ll probably eventually start going to the one closer to my house but I”ll have to wean myself off of ghetto kroger, lol.
you gotta do what you gotta do man!! good to hear from you nonetheless
