About
If you’ve stumbled onto this page, that means you’re either wondering about my blog, or about me. If neither of those are true, go somewhere else.
My Blog
This is the new home of my blog. I recently migrate here from LiveJournal. I feel WordPress is imensely more powerful and stable, and I want more control over my stuff, so here I am. The contents of this blog will cover politics, technology, fitness and relationships. Knowing my previous blogging history, relationships will probably be the main focus.
A lot of what I write is personal. Not all of it can be shared with the world. In light of this, many of the posts on this blog will not be public. The WP_Sentry plugin allows me to grants access to groups of users to individual posts. That means I have set up lots of different groups to put my friends into, and depending on whether or not I want you to read something, you will have access to read it. The once caveat is that you have to register a user account on my blog in order to be added to any of the groups.
“Another account on another website?” I hear you complaining, and I’m sorry. There is no other way to protect my privacy. There is good news though! If you click the “remember me” box when you login, you shouldn’t have to do it again. Even cooler, the Sentry plugin also comes with key-protected RSS feeds. That means, once you’re logged in, you can use the RSS links to subscribe to my blog via your personal user account.
About Me
If you don’t already know, my name is Jesse Silverstein. In a nutshell, I have a B.S. in New Media/IT from RIT, I currently work at Xerox Research Center Webster, and I have two cats. At Xerox, I’m working on developing a plugin for WordPress based on an idea and a technology set invented by my boss. Once I can tell you more about it, I will. Once I can install it on a public blog, I will demo it here as well.
If you want to know more about me… maybe you should read my blog?
