I’ve tricked myself into being interested in Juvenile Justice for this class (at least for the moment). Shhhh, don’t tell it.

Warning: Interest in this topic may spontaneously combust at any moment.

But the class seems alright, over all. 10 am to 2 pm 2 days a week can only be so positive.
10 minute breaks every hour instead of half an hour for lunch (grr).
But! No homework, no papers or essays. 3 multiple choice tests and 1 group presentation.
Attendance is optional, and treated as extra credit as opposed to being mandatory.
All lecture PowerPoints are posted online, so attendance really is optional.
And the things we discuss are actually kind of interesting.

Why is the legal age of sexual consent (in NY) 17, but you legally cant get married without parental consent until 18? What sense does that make?

Why can a child drop out of school after 16, but isn’t allowed to work a full time job until 18? What is s/he supposed to do for 2 years except cause trouble? Seems self-defeating.

Just some of what we touched on today. Kind of interesting to look at the system, but kind of pointless because we could never change the system even though we know it’s busted.
Anyway, more to come on this over the next 5 weeks of the class.

Turd-burgaler professor completely changed the weighting of grades when he posted the final exam scores. Changed it in my favor, but still. That’s just retarded.

Got a 90 on the final, which isn’t as good as I thought I did, but still not bad. Especially considering the 74 I had on the last exam. Too bad the jackass skipped town already, or I would have found somewhere that he graded me wrong. Again.

Final must have been easier than the other two though, because someone got a 99 (and it wasn’t me *cry*), and there were 5 people in the 90s. Highest test average of the three, even though it was a 62.9.

Anyway, the 90 and the new grade weighting left me with an 89.0 for the class. Pretty shitty since RIT doesn’t do plus or minus on grades. 89 = B just like 80 = B. I know I said I would be happy with a B, and I will be, in like a day or two. Just a little pissy that I got to 89 but not 90. So close, and yet so far. And no, doing that last homework would not have helped me. An extra .1 still doesn’t get me to 90.

I didn’t think he would have posted grades to the system already, but he did. Got an A for lecture and lab. Woohoo!

Ring of Entropy – off Lord Kazzak – non raid boss.
Dragonslayer’s Signet – Onyxia kill reward, maybe? Also not likely.
Lady Maye’s Pendant cuz wow, or Tempist Talisman for the crit%
Gloves of Spell Mastery – But the pattern isn’t even a known drop, so … not gonna happen

Staff of Dominance – HAHA Yea right. Off Golemagg

Got home Friday after work, and played WoW… pretty much straight through until last night. Breaks for eating and sleeping and such, but I didn’t accomplish a damn thing over the weekend, which was very very good for me and a welcome change.

Didn’t even do my Physics homework which was due last night at 10 pm. Oh well! I had an 88.8 average in the class, even with a 0 on the homework, and all I wanted was a B, so what was the point? I didn’t fully understand the concept. It hurt my brain to try and understand it, and I knew it wouldn’t be on the final this morning, which it wasn’t.

Good news is it’s still possible that I got an A in phy-sucks, even without that homework. Bad news is I need at least a 98 on the final to guarantee the A. Not likely, but feels like it could have happened. I was in and out of the final ridiculously fast, and I was working slowly and checked my work. Second to last person to arrive (I love being late to that class, too bad I can’t do it any more) and first to be finished and leave. Only one question I wasn’t completely sure about, but I still think I got it right. So, we’ll see

More good news is, as long as I got like a 30 or better, I still get the B that I was aiming for, so … done and done.
